🚀 Kids in Space: A Summer Theater Camp at ScienceWorks

An Original Space Rock Musical for Ages 11–13
Presented in partnership with The Human Stage

Get ready to launch into a galaxy of imagination, music, and science with Kids in Space—an original, laugh-out-loud, space rock musical that’s out of this world!

This summer, twelve talented and creative young minds (ages 11–13) will help develop and workshop this brand-new musical over six weeks, in an exciting partnership with the Human Stage.

With a possible future professional production on the launchpad, this is your chance to be part of something truly stellar from the ground up.

About the Camp:

6-week theater camp for kids with prior performance experience
6 lead roles will go to musical theater-savvy kids through an audition process
6 more kids will dive into the creative universe of “behind-the-scenes” magic — building the rocket, crafting cosmic costumes, and learning about stage management
Instrumentalists welcome
Ensemble roles available for “behind-the-scenes” kids who want to be in the limelight too

Dates:

July 8 - August 17. Monday, Wednesday, Fridays, and some Saturdays at ScienceWorks

First 5 weeks: 12 - 4pm. Additional evening rehearsals at performance space TBD

The Vibe:

Kids in Space is a funny and slightly weird adventure through space, packed with real emotion, real science, and catchy pop songs (think: David Bowie meets Chappell Roan on Mars), affectionate aliens, time portals, friendship, and discovering your own kind of superpower. It’s a fast-paced, fantastical journey jam-packed with imagination and intergalactic energy. It's fun, it's smart, it's seriously cool. You’ll help build it, perform it, and launch it toward a future professional production!
