Summer Camp: Junkyard Orchestra - Aug. 18-22 - BEGINNER

Get ready to make music out of…junk! At Junkyard Orchestra Camp, campers dive into the science of sound and the engineering behind musical instruments. Activities include crafting zithers and shoebox guitars, and investigating how materials like wood and string affect sound production. Explore acoustics and discover how our ears interpret different sounds. By the end of the week, campers will showcase their creations in a final concert for family and friends. 🎶  🪕📦🛠️

ScienceWorks camps are led by experienced instructors who nurture curiosity while supporting diverse learning styles, including ADHD and neurodivergence. We provide a welcoming environment where every camper can thrive while having fun.

Campers must be capable of the following:

• Stay with the group and do not run or hide from camp staff.
• Follow safety instructions promptly.
• Share and play cooperatively with peers.
• Use the restroom independently, including adjusting clothing.
